Look at ourselves first
“You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.”
Above is a famous quote from Jezus Christ. It is basically the same as we talked about earlier; we somehow always look to others or our surrounding when we try to improve . In this case it is about other persons, but it could also be about other things. We tend to look for solutions outside ourselves so that we ourselves can feel better. Of course sometimes the problems are outside ourselves, for example when we are sick and need a medicine, or when we need a better paying job to get food on the table, but those are practical problems that need practical solutions. In this case we talk about trying to change other persons or trying to change things that are not needed perse. In the case of other persons; we need first try to improve ourselves before we try to change others, especially when it is us that want to feel better.
